Grappling is a broad term encompassing various martial arts and combat sports, focusing on clinches, throws, takedowns, holds, chokes, joint locks, and groundwork, none of which are specific to any one style. Although more specific to training in a kimono, the term BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) is commonly used as a synonym for modern-day grappling.
What is Hayastan Grappling?
Conquest Self Defense is proud to be the only Hayastan Grappling Affiliate in the Pacific Northwest.
The Hayastan Grappling System is a blend of Judo, Jiu Jitsu, Sambo, and Wrestling.
Wrestling is in our DNA; students learn from seasoned wrestlers with college experience and black-belt instructors how to attack on the feet while honoring our leg-locking heritage and all other aspects of the ground submission game. Learn from some of the best grapplers in the Northwest. From ages 3-73, there is a class that is right for you.
All classes include a Christ-centered Bible message presented before or after training.
CSD Grappling Team
Conquest Self Defense also offers students the opportunity to compete as members of our grappling team and to participate in No-Gi Grappling tournaments locally and outside Washington State. Team members can receive paid entry fees and free competition rash guards and shorts. The team experience has been developed to give all of our grappling students a chance to compete and test themselves on the mat.
We believe that competition provides the atmosphere that will test the student’s heart and provide the arena where each athlete may develop, both mentally and spiritually, while cultivating an identity in Christ with a desire to bring Him glory first and foremost. We encourage our students to strive in competition, knowing that God has blessed the athlete with the opportunity to compete at their highest level for their enjoyment and Christ’s glory.
